This Is TWENTY Trailer
This piece follows the journey of those who struggle with body dysmorphia, eating disorders, anxiety, etc. and the struggles that they face within working through that in the dance world. Specifically, the song has a lyric in the chorus “we won’t be 21 again” that really speaks to the story of being trapped in your head. Despite being young and experiencing what are supposed to be the best years of our lives, we are constantly dealing with these issues that prevent us from living our best lives. The piece really shows us how beautiful our lives truly are and how being trapped in our heads is acting as a barrier from us reaching our full potential as dancers. Towards the end of the piece, we see the dancers breaking through their heads and we see them start to grow past all of these issues and insecurities that lay before them.
